Should Herriman or St. Ignatius be #1?
Yes, they should. Or at least could be. Both teams did enough this past weekend to get to #1. But Torrey Pines are wrapping up their season in Southern California and have done what they needed to do, so far. Might they lose to St. Francis in the all-California final? Sure, they might, and St. Francis could argue for a #1 ranking—their problem is they did lose a couple of games, even though it was early in the season.

Thriller at Witter as Cal Edges Navy
Shorthanded and in a tie game, Cal scored a late try through No. 8 Oliver Teague to edge Navy 52-45 at Witter Rugby Field.
This was a clash of the GRR #1 Navy and #2 Cal, and it didn’t disappoint.
Cal lost starting openside flanker Chris Biller to injury in the first two minutes, but shook off that setback and soon thereafter scored.

Claremont Colleges moved to 6-0 and have almost mathematically clinched 1st in the Pacific Desert women's D1 league over the weekend, beating UC San Diego 45-19 to get there.

After playing in three straight tournaments in which they finished fourth, the USA women's 7s team got over that particular hump with a solid Day Two in Vancouver to take 3rd.
