Ray Santiago has emerged as one of RPI’s most influential forwards, a player whose size, athleticism, and rapid development make him stand out in the Division II landscape. Originally coming to rugby from wrestling and soccer, Santiago adapted quickly and has grown into a versatile force who can slot in at lock, flanker, or No. 8. At 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, he brings the physical presence you expect from a top-tier forward, but it’s his work rate, ball-carrying confidence, and composure under pressure that have pushed him into the spotlight. His performances in all-star environments have confirmed that he belongs in conversations well above his division level. Balancing a demanding Civil Engineering program at RPI with his rugby progression, Santiago continues to show the discipline and ambition of a player with the potential to make a serious impact beyond college.
