Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (Release)—USA Rugby and TEG Rugby Live today announced the long-awaited return of elite level international rugby to the state of Florida, as the USA Men’s Eagles host Argentina XV at Fort Lauderdale’s Inter Miami CF Stadium, on August 15th.

The Eagles and Argentina will clash for the first time since meeting in the 2019 Americas Rugby Championship. The addition of this matchup adds another major test to USA Rugby’s 2026 slate, which also includes the inaugural World Rugby Nations Cup in July. Argentina are ranked 5th in the men’s World Rugby Rankings, emphasizing the side’s world-class quality.

This announcement reflects the collective ambition of USA Rugby, Argentina Rugby Union, and World Rugby to grow the game in the United States. As the region builds toward hosting 2031 and 2033 Cups, World Rugby and member unions are partnering to strategically position premium international rugby in key US markets.

Fans can register now for pre-sale and early access to tickets here. Tickets will be on sale through Ticketmaster. Pre-sale for tickets opens Tuesday, June 2 at 10AM ET. General public on-sale starts Thursday, June 4 at 10AM ET.

“We’re delighted to announce our return to Florida, and the opportunity to host an excellent Argentina XV team,” said USA Rugby CEO Bill Goren. “Our Men’s Eagles are continuing to test themselves against the best nations in the world, as we look ahead to the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 in Australia next year. Facing Argentina at Inter Miami CF Stadium will be a fantastic spectacle, and we know our fans will be loud and proud in attendance.”

“The match between Argentina XV and the Eagles is very important to continue providing game time and experience for the players within the High Performance pathway. It gives them the opportunity to compete, gain minutes in demanding environments, and continue growing during key stages of their development,” said Esteban Meneses, National Technical Secretary of UAR.

World Rugby Chief Executive Officer Alan Gilpin said: “This is a big year for rugby in the US with a record roster of men’s and women’s matches to be played. Partnering with national rugby unions to bring these matches to key cities in the U.S sits at the centre of our dedicated strategy to grow rugby’s visibility and impact ahead of hosting historic men’s and women’s Rugby World Cups on U.S soil in 2031 and '33 respectively.”

Inter Miami CF Stadium in Fort Lauderdale will play host to this exciting matchup. The 20,000-seat venue is best known for being the first-ever home to MLS’ Inter Miami and the site where fans celebrated the Club’s first trophies, including the 2025 MLS Cup, the 2024 Supporters’ Shield, and the 2023 Leagues Cup. The venue served as the primary home of the Club’s First Team throughout its first six seasons and has hosted numerous world-class sporting and entertainment events, including matches featuring FC Barcelona and the Argentina national team, training activities for the FIFA Club World Cup and Concacaf Gold Cup matches, as well as major non-soccer events such as the University of Miami Spring Football Game.

Today, the stadium hosts matches for Inter Miami CF II, Academy teams, international competitions, community events, and more. Rugby fans from across the US will now descend on Fort Lauderdale to watch Argentina take on the Eagles. This will be the Eagles’ first match in the Sunshine State in over a decade.

“Greater Fort Lauderdale is proud to welcome this international rugby showcase to our destination and to host fans from around the world for what promises to be an exciting, high-energy event,” said Stacy Ritter, President & CEO of Visit Lauderdale. “This match further reinforces Greater Fort Lauderdale’s growing reputation as a premier destination for international sporting events and world-class entertainment. We look forward to sharing our beautiful beaches, vibrant culinary scene, and warm hospitality with visitors and rugby fans alike this August.”

“We’re excited to bring Argentina XV to Florida to take on the USA Eagles,” said TEG Rugby Live Managing Director Stephen Cottrell. “These are two great international teams who will entertain fans at Inter Miami CF Stadium, as the ever-expanding footprint of rugby fandom in the US continues to grow. This high-caliber matchup exemplifies the powerful momentum Rugby has in America, as we build towards Rugby World Cup 2031."
