While the school-team league in Northern California keeps going, some clubs are still playing some early matches.
The SacAir Islanders and Danville Oaks played what was probably better termed a scrimmage. They played three periods, and then were having so much fun they added a fourth. This contest ended as a 29-29 tie.
Greer Comes Back to Overhaul Wando
After two weeks of snow and ice produced cancelations, the South Carolina high school winter league was back in action with a full slate of boys and girls matches.
The marquee matchup of the day was a contest between undefeated teams, Greer 76ers and Wando Warriors. The contest finished with Greer coming back to beat Wando 19-16.
North Carolina Final Heads HS Weekend
It’s a break weekend in many high schools so things dial down a little bit.
The main game this weekend is the North Carolina school final between Charlotte Catholic and Huskies out of Hough, NC.
These two teams met up earlier in the season and that produced Charlotte Catholic’s closest game of the season, a game they won by the score of 14-12.

February 9 is the deadline to apply for the Boys HS Rugby National Championships.
Three Selected for Nelson College Scholarship for 2026
The US Rugby Foundation has announced that three high school student-athletes have received Nelson College Rugby Scholarships.
This is the fourth year of the Nelson College scholarship program, with high school boys from the USA studying and developing their rugby at Nelson college in New Zealand.
This year's recipients are:
