Herriman, La Salette, Gonzaga, and Ignatius Into School Semis

It was a tense Day One at the Single-School bracket of the Boys HS National Championships Thursday in Elkhart, Ind.

Even the most lopsided game had its difficult moments. Herriman took on St. Edward and those teams traded scores early.

Tight Cleveland Battle Goes The Way of Ignatius

St. Ignatius had all sorts of trouble with their crosstown rivals Thursday night, eking out a 21-14 win over St. Edward to secure a #1 seed in the Rugby Ohio Varsity Conference semifinals.

St. Ignatius Holds Off Gonzaga in DC

In a meeting of two top-10 school teams, St. Ignatius of Cleveland held off Gonzaga College HS 28-21 Saturday.

Played at Gonzaga’s home field in Washington, DC, this match was part of three matches across age levels, with all of the games very close. It was a warm, sunny day, which was a nice change for Ignatius, which has been enduring a rather harsh winter.

St. Ignatius Pulls Away in First Meeting with St. Edward

St. Ignatius of Cleveland took the lead in their Cavoli Cup series against local rivals St. Edward.
The Cup is named after a beloved and respected teach who taught at both schools, and is awarded based on results not only with the Varsity sides, but their B-sides and Freshmen teams as well.

Rivalry Plus as St. Ignatius and St. Edward Face Off for the Cavoli Cup

Coming off wins with distinctly different feels, St. Edward and St. Ignatius will light up the Cleveland area with a major rivalry game.

These two schools compete intensely in every sport, and rugby is one of their most competitive. This past week St. Ignatius came away with a 29-17 win over Notre Dame de la Salette in which they fell behind 17-10 before scoring three tries to win it.
