Jesuit of Sacramento defeated Cathedral Catholic of Southern California Saturday as the Dons tour to Northern end of the state.
The Marauders were coming off a somewhat frustrating loss to Rio Americano in which both teams scored three tries but Rio converted their tries and Jesuit did not.
Head Coach Andrew Acosta has been taking a long view on his program. Following the success of the 2023 team, which made the final of the Single-School bracket at the High School National Championships, the Marauders graduated a large number of players.

Acosta opted to toke his very young Jesuit side to the Sanix tournament in Japan. It was a trial by fire, but set that team up for a strong showing at Nationals in 2025, where they finished 5th, losing to Notre Dame de la Salette before beating Greenwich and Gonzaga.
This year, they are still targeting a strong showing at the national tournament.
Acosta mentioned how Jesuit standout Jack Patrock graduated this past spring, and about a half-dozen players have elevated their game to help make up for the loss of a high-level player.
"They al went to Japan as sophomores and were at Nationals last year," said Acosta.
