Men’s Division 1AA (D1AA) represents a highly competitive tier of collegiate rugby in the United States, featuring programs governed by both National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) and the College Rugby Association of America (CRAA). It serves as a bridge between elite Division I play and developing Division II or Small College levels, offering strong regional competition and a pathway to national championships under each organization’s structure. While NCR and CRAA operate independently, both use the D1AA designation for schools with established programs that may not have the depth or resources of top-tier D1A teams.

Sac State on a Roll

Sacramento State may well be one of the dark horse teams in DIAA.

After starting the 2016 season with a somewhat shaky win over UCSB very shaky loss to UC Davis, the Hornets lost again a week later, this time to Stanford. But since then, Sac State has won six in a row, including this past Saturday’s 50-19 defeat of previously 5-1 Nevada-Reno.

Men DI College Standings - Updated

Here are the updated Men's DI College Standings.

We mix up the DIA and DIAA standings because there are also DI-level conferences that don't pursue either playoff, and opt only for the ACRC Bowls or the Varsity Cup invitational tournament. So we mush it all together and give you a little bit of an explanation as to who plays where.
