Gamebreakers for March in HS Rugby

Here's a little look back at the past month or so and the players who had some big performances.

Jaxson Siroky, Wichita

The Wichita wing scored three tries in a victory over Junction City.

Andy Campanell, Bixby

Described by his coach as "a large, fast wrecking ball," Campanell has exploded onto the scene for Bixby this year at center.

Junipero Serra and Bishop O'Dowd have developed a nice rivalry.

Serra Holds Off Bishop O'Dowd to Win NorCal D1 School League

It was a close one, but the Serra Rugby Padres edged Bishop O'Dowd Saturday to win the Northern California D1 School Championship.

These two teams had met a week ago and Serra won 47-19. However, the Dragons tested the Padres at every turn.

Serra pulled it out 31-29.

Serra scored three tries in the first half for a comfortable lead.

Championships, Cross-Border Games, and the Lindenwood Tournament

As a weekend preview this isn't much of one as one of the games was already played.

Torrey Pines won the Southern California School League with a midweek victory over Orange Lutheran 43-13.

This sets up an All-California final for the Falcons. On March 14 they will face the winner of this weekend's St. Francis vs Rio Americano Northern California final.

HS Rugby Around the Nation as February Wraps Up

Leagues start, finals are decided, and tournaments held. It was a great way to end February in high school rugby.

Southern California

Oceanside edged San Clemente 29-24 to win the Multi-School school-season final in SoCal. Led by the center pairing of Exzodus Taele and Malachi Misa as well as captain Thomas Reynoso Oceanside completed an unbeaten season.

Legion Academy Youngsters Enjoy Hugely Successful Tours

The Legion Academy finished 2025 with an international record of 20-9 after tours to five different countries.

The 2025 Teams traveled to Scotland, England, Wales, Australia, and New Zealand.
