TOA Unity Brings Home Tropical 7s Title
TOA won the Boys Elite U18s at Tropical 7s, beating Rebel Rugby Academy 26-10 in the final.
The key, said Coach Greg Turpen, was cohesion.
"The family and administrative unity spread into our team and extended well beyond the field," said Tupren. "Behind the scenes, our support team, families, and coach handled things seamlessly. It was pretty cool."
Tropical 7s Back for East and Keeps Growing
The Tropical 7s returns for Easter Weekend with 17 divisions and over 220 teams in action.
“We’re still growing and we are getting a lot of demand in certain divisions, especially Boys and Girls U18 Open divisions, and the U14 divisions,” said Tournament Director John Siner.
Eagle Women Claim Elusive Podium Finish With Emphatic Win
After playing in three straight tournaments in which they finished fourth, the USA women's 7s team got over that particular hump with a solid Day Two in Vancouver to take 3rd.
USA Head Coach Emilie Bydwell and captain Kristi Kirshe had, this week, discussed the issue of going 0-2 on Day Two and how that was something they wanted to avoid.
EIRA WIns Vancouver Sevens Invitational U18 Bracket
The only non-Canadian team in the Vancouver Sevens Invitational has won its bracket.
The USA-based Eagle Impact Rugby Academy defeated Ontario in the final held at BC Place during the Vancouver 7s SVNS event.
EIRA U18 Team to Final of Vancouver 7s Invitational
Being the only non-Canadian team invited to the Vancouver Sevens Invitational, Eagle Impact Rugby Academy has honored that invitation by making the final of the tournament.
The U18 Boys EIRA side finished 2nd in their pool, beating BC Blue and Alberta Development, but tying Ontario Blue. The Ontario side took 1st in Pool A thanks to points difference.
