The RugbyTown 7s returns to Glendale this weekend, kicking off at Infinity Park on Friday.
The tournament features 21 teams, with four pools of four teams, and then a separate pool five military service teams.
This event serves as the Armed Forces Championships as well as the overall RugbyTown 7s (which, perhaps one day, could be the same thing).
The event has a bit more of a US flavor than has historically been the case, but this still has several high-end and sei-pro teams playing.
Rugby 10s Championships is fielding a team (even though it's 7s), with a team that includes internationals from Spain, Germany, Samoa, and Great Britain, as well as accomplished players from South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and England. South African 7s legend Frankie Horne coaches.
On the collegiate level, NCR is fielding an All American team in a tough pool with the Denver 7s Selects, USA Falcons, and Tsunami Rugby.
This team is pretty stacked and includes the 2025 Prusmack Award-winner Manu Taula from St. Bonaventure.
Scholz Award bominee Marco Lapierre, CRC breakout star Richard Wofford, and GVSU standout Reinhardt Stipp are also on the squad.
Meanwhile, two players in the Zimbabwe national team system, Alex NYamunda and Taku Musingwini are also on the squad.
