The Upstate New York Men’s Collegiate Rugby Conference (UNYMCRC) is a regional collegiate club-rugby competition affiliated with National Collegiate Rugby (NCR), organizing men’s college-rugby teams from the Upstate New York region. It provides an organized league schedule and standings platform for its member schools, facilitating club-level rugby competition among colleges in this region. While detailed information about tier‐levels, promotion/relegation, or exact membership is somewhat limited in publicly accessible sources, the conference clearly serves as a structured competitive home for upstate New York college rugby clubs.

NSCRO Playoffs Beckon for Canisius

Having survived a tough game against the University of Rochester, Canisius College looks to be in good shape in the Upstate NY Small College Western Bracket.

The Golden Griffins edged the Yellowjackets 26-24 in a clash of undefeated teams, and that means Canisius goes into this weekend’s clash against St. John Fisher with a 4-0 conference record.

Cortland Still Strong in Upstate NY

There’s not much on the one this week in the Upstate NY men’s DII college conference, as SUNY Cortland sits at 3-0 and waits for someone to unseat them. But with Niagara, SUNY Oswego, and Buffalo State all at 2-1, it will be tough sledding for the contenders.

Upstate NY Starts with Big Game

It was all about tries and bonus points this weekend as the Upstate NY Men’s DII college conference got underway.

The game of the weekend was likely Buffalo State against SUNY Oswego, two teams who were among the contenders last season. A relatively young Buff State team held off Oswego 29-27.

Early Start for Upstate NY

The Upstate NY Men’s DII conference begins action this weekend, with most of the teams having been back in school for about a week.

So it’s a quick turnaround from “this is what a rugby ball looks like” to “let’s play a league game” but that’s what they have to do.

City Honors Leads Upstate NY

Within days of the snow finally melting from their frozen pitches, the teams in the Western New York (WNY) girls high school division began their competitive seasons. The top two teams from the region will take the 3rd and 4th seeds at the state championship on June 6-7, and City Honors is making an early bid for one of those spots.
