California Collegiate Conference

The California Collegiate Conference is a regional collegiate rugby conference affiliated with the College Rugby Association of America (CRAA) that operates two levels, D1A and D1AA. 

The league realignment in 2022-23 marked its expansion and formal establishment of the two divisions, with plans for promotion and relegation between the levels going forward.

For the 2025-26 season California Conference has added University of San Diego and UCLA to their D1A level.

San Diego State held on for a dramatic 21-20 victory over Cal Poly, moving to 3-1 in the California Conference.

The Aztecs and Mustangs battled each other throughout a physical Saturday evening game, and it was never a game that seemed to be in control by either team.

It’s a busy weekend of rugby around the country and especially in Nevada, but there’s the little matter of one of the enduring rivalries in Men’s College Rugby - Cal v St. Mary’s.

California Conference Latest - Gaels, Mustangs

St. Mary's remains atop the California DIA Conference thanks to a 53-12 defeat of UC Santa Barbara; Cal Poly won their first conference game in other action this weekend.

St. Mary's rested several starters due to injuries, but held in in, what Head Coach Tim O'Brien called a "very low-energy match."

BYU Holds Off St. Mary's

Moraga, Calif.- BYU edged St. Mary’s 30-29 in a weird game Saturday in Moraga.

The Cougars looked much the stronger side in the first 65-70 minutes, but a late surge by the Gaels put the result in doubt.
