Doylestown Powers Through to RugbyPA Title Repeat

The Doylestown Academy Boys High School team defeated Gregory the Great in an impressive display, Sunday, to win the Rugby Pennsylvania Boys D1 championship.

These two teams played last year in the final, with Doylestown winning by a converted try. However, this year, while things were tight for a while, Doylestown was in control at halftime and cruised to a 42-17 win.

Hermits Taske NJ Title Over CBA

The St. Augustine Hermits put together a very good performance to win the Rugby New Jersey Gold Division final over Christian Brothers.

St Augustine took an early lead in the game with a try from senior fullback Dom Maurice in the first 5 minutes. The Hermits kept it up and scored twice more to take a 19-0 lead.

Liberty Takes Rugby Washington Championship Over Eastside

The Liberty Patriots defeated the Eastside Lions 29-20 Saturday to claim the Rugby Washington Boys HS championship.

This game was played at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila as part of a weekend of high-level rugby surrounding the Seattle Seawolves MLR game.

It was a well-contested match and a rematch of the regular-season meeting from May 2 which Liberty had taken 28-7.

Bend Defeats Camas to Win Oregon

The Bend Blues defeated Camas 24-12 Saturday afternoon to win the Rugby Oregon state championship.

The two teams went through the entire season pretty much deadlocked. They tied in March and their overall record and points difference were virtually identical.

Bend was just one point different from Camas through the entire league season.

On Parallel Courses, Bend and Camas Seek Oregon Title

It seemed like these two teams were destined to play for the Rugby Oregon boys HS championship.

Camas, back into Oregon after a short foray into competing in Washington (which is the state where the town of Camas is located), played the Bend Blues in the opening weekend of the season and the two teams tied 20-20.
