Knoxville Youth Rugby defeated Raptor Rugby 26-12 to take this past weekend's Tennessee Boys HS 7s.

KYR and Raptor played in some similar ways. Both teams used their defensive acumen to pin teams into their 22, force a turnover, and then score from short range.

KYR defeated Soulsville 31-0 and then won impressively 36-7 over 901.

John Eddleman was outstanding for KYR.

Raptors were pretty good, too, and worked a unified defensive front.

Raptors beat Father Ryan 17-5, Christian Brothers 33-7, and beat PCA also.

The drama in that pool came down to the other three teams. Everyone ended up 1-2 so it came down to points difference. With the final pool match still to be played, PCA led with the best points difference, over Father Ryan.

But PCA was set to play Raptors, and a two-try loss would see Father Ryan through.

As it happened, Raptors won by four tries and Father Ryan secured the #2 seed to face KYR. Raptors played 901.
