The rankings are based on last year's rankings, plus some adjustments based on a few early results, some observations, and some guesswork. Often, if a team had a good 2016, but it was something of an anomaly, we have moved that team down below teams with a long track record of success.
Boys Single-School Preseason Rankings for 2017

The rankings are mostly based on how last season ended, with a little nudge here and there due to various tiny factors, or some early results. Everything is expected to change rather drastically as the game start.
NSCRO Fall 2016 Top 50
The National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) has released its Top 50 Men's College teams for fall.
Leading these rankings is Xavier University followed by Tufts University, Wisconsin - Stevens Point, Southern Indiana, and Maine - Orono.
