VMI Sets Sights on TopVirginia Military Institute moved to 3-0 Saturday with a comprehensive victory over a fairly strong Radford team in Cardinals Conference play. With the 55-21 victory, VMI keeps pace, almost, with the high-flying James Madison team, which won114-0 over Williams & Mary. JMU remains in 1st thanks to one extra bonus point than VMI.
Tri-State Latest as Leaders EmergeVassar and RPI took wins in the Tri-State Men’s DII college conference Saturday, giving both a nice start to the season, while Fairfield continued their torrid run, and NJIT also kept winning. For Vassar, it was a good day as Eli Vargas scored four tries in a 74-0 shutout of Siena.
Salisbury Battles Through
Salisbury University’s 29-17 defeat of UMBC was not what you’d expect.
The Sharks won one of the two national championships held last year, and are always near the top of the DII College heap. A winning margin of 12 points seems a bit small.
Rhode Island, UVM, Norwich Winners in New England
Rhode Island, Norwich, and Vermont were all victors in the Men's DII New England Rugby Conference this past weekend.
