Women College Weekend and Who Should Think Higher
There is something going on within women's college rugby that is bubbling up within the results of this winter/spring.
Is Sevens-Only College Spring Losing its Luster?
Is there a trend away from 7s in college rugby?
In one sense, the answer to that question is: "obviously not." A huge number of D2 and Small College teams are playing 7s this spring, looking to compete in the CRC in the DC area (Germantown, Md.) at the end of April.
That isn't really changing much.
But elsewhere? Well, let's have a look:
GCU, BYU Pushing to Tops in Pacific Desert
Grand Canyon looked very solid in moving to 2-1 in the women's Pacific Desert Conference, beating UCSD 43-0 over the weekend.
Zariah Faaopega scored two tries for the 'Lopes, as did Chloe Geryol. Maleah Stewart, CYnthia Fonoinmoana, and Sofia Rico also scored tries, while Bianca Curtis added three conversions and Samantha Garcia added one more.
CRAA Adding 7s Tournaments to Spring Finals Weekend in May
The College Rugby Association of America (CRAA) will host its Spring 2023 Championship Weekend on May 5-7 at Aveva Stadium in Houston, Texas.
NCR Names Women's All Americans

NCR expanded to three women’s divisions last fall, naming 23 All-Americans per group, including the inaugural Division II team.
