The Southeastern Collegiate Rugby Conference (SCRC) was started in 2010 to serve the needs of the collegiate rugby community and has been a consistent supporter of the sport for its member teams since inception. The SCRC has proven itself to be responsive to the shifting needs of its members and the collegiate rugby community on the southeastern United States.

South Carolina Names 2015 Fall Freshmen

Columbia, SC (USC Rugby Release) – Thirty-five freshmen make up the new class of student-athletes on the University of South Carolina Men’s Rugby team, bringing to the Gamecocks an exciting mixture of leadership and athleticism from across the nation that could have an impact on the program as early as this fall.

Alabama Surprises Again

Perhaps one of the biggest shockers in this spring of college 7s tournaments was Alabama’s victory at the SCRC 7s championships.

With South Carolina having won all three qualifiers, and with the next two strongest teams being Tennessee and Florida, it seemed as if Alabama, which finished 4th in all three buildup events, was just one of several dark horses running in the race.

The SCRC 7s final kicks off this weekend with eight teams looking to qualify for the CRC invitational in Chester, Pa., and the USA Rugby 7s championships in Denver.

Tennessee Chases USC in 3rd SCRC 7s

It’s the third tournament in the Altantic Coast Rugby League’s 7s series leading up to next week’s final in Knoxville, Tenn.

This week it’s Tupelo, Miss. that hosts the event, with a nine-team bracket that includes the two teams that have contested the final each of the last two tournaments - South Carolina and Tennessee.

LSU Rugby Reinstated

The Louisiana State University team is back on the field after being suspended for the fall season.

The team was suspended after a player’s parent brought beer to a post-match function. The team was forced to forfeit all of its games, the ones they played and the ones they weren’t allowed to play.
