What the Heck is Happening in Singapore? It was pool play of huge surprises in the Singapore 7s, at least where the USA was concerned. The high-flying women's team, which had an eye on getting to the #3 seed, were edged late by South Africa, and beaten fairly comprehensively by Japan.
USA Women 2nd at Hong Kong Sevens The USA Women’s Sevens team took 2nd at the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong SVNS Sunday, securing their second-straight podium finish after their Bronze Medal showing in LA. Nineteen-year-old Kaylen Thomas made her SVNS debut, scoring a try in her third match appearance against Canada. Ilona Maher also scored her 60th career try, a critical one in the semifinal against France.
Eagle Women 4th in Cape Town
The USA women's 7s team finished 4th at the Cape Town 7s, winning their first game on Day Two but running into a wall against the top Southern Hemisphere teams.
