It was a pretty solid day at the EAAST 7s in Haguenau for the USA Falcons teams.
The Falcons women finished the day 2-1.
They beat the German national VII and Tropics 7s, and lost to the NZ Cavaliers.
The win over Germany was a close one, 14-10, while the loss to the Cavaliers was a step forward from their results vs (28-7 and 51-0) from last week in Cognac.
For the men, they also finished the day 2-1, also losing their final match against the New Zealand Cavaliers.
Once again, the scorelines were improvements. The Falcon men shut out the Alsace All Stars 43-0 and almost shut out Cook Islands, ultimately winning 43-5.
In the final match of the day the Americans fell 27-19 to the New Zealand Cavaliers. When the two teams met last week the score was 43-7.
The men's tournament is a single bracket of six teams so we're expecting to see two more pool games on Sunday and then final placement matches. As a result, the big game coming up would be USA Falcons vs Pacific TOA—both teams are 2-1.
For the women we're looking at a semifinal (Falcons vs Tropics, Cavaliers vs Germany) and then final games.
