Tri-State Latest as Leaders Emerge

Vassar and RPI took wins in the Tri-State Men’s DII college conference Saturday, giving both a nice start to the season, while Fairfield continued their torrid run, and NJIT also kept winning.

For Vassar, it was a good day as Eli Vargas scored four tries in a 74-0 shutout of Siena.

Salisbury University’s 29-17 defeat of UMBC was not what you’d expect.

The Sharks won one of the two national championships held last year, and are always near the top of the DII College heap. A winning margin of 12 points seems a bit small.
