As a weekend preview this isn't much of one as one of the games was already played.
Torrey Pines won the Southern California School League with a midweek victory over Orange Lutheran 43-13.
This sets up an All-California final for the Falcons. On March 14 they will face the winner of this weekend's St. Francis vs Rio Americano Northern California final.
Leagues start, finals are decided, and tournaments held. It was a great way to end February in high school rugby.
Oceanside edged San Clemente 29-24 to win the Multi-School school-season final in SoCal. Led by the center pairing of Exzodus Taele and Malachi Misa as well as captain Thomas Reynoso Oceanside completed an unbeaten season.
Defending Single-School National Champion St. Ignatius of Cleveland opened their season with two matches in two days, winning both.
The Wildcats have, like many teams, been battling snow and cold weather. They do have access to an indoor facility and that certainly helped them.
Doylestown and Xavier of New York dug out of the snow to meet up Sunday at La Salle College High School.
The result was a Doylestown win and certainly that was an indication of ho strong Doylestown is this year. But it's also fair to point out that the snowy winter has heavily disrupted Xavier's preparation as they went into this their first game of the season.
In a match that was praised by many observers as an impressive clash of skill and rugby understanding, the Charlotte Cardinals defeated Okapi Wanderers 35-10 in the inaugural Pathway Classic hosted by Anthem RC in Matthews, NC.
