Doylestown and Xavier of New York dug out of the snow to meet up Sunday at La Salle College High School.

The result was a Doylestown win and certainly that was an indication of ho strong Doylestown is this year. But it's also fair to point out that the snowy winter has heavily disrupted Xavier's preparation as they went into this their first game of the season.

Doylestown played and beat Fort Hunt last week, and that had them a little ahead in terms of time on the field.

Still, the game opened in a bit of a stalemate. Doylestown had plenty of possession but Xavier's commitment to the tackle was excellent.

Laying in two-man tackles pushing the ballcarriers back, Xavier showed their usual enthusiasm in defense.

It took Doylestown until the 21st minute to score a try.

But, their big ballcarriers and power at the point of contact would eventually exact a tax.

Eventually Doylestown started to make the gainline and then further. They broke through a couple of times and the tries started to come; the Pennsylvanians took a 25-5 lead into the break.

Doylestown's strength and speed began to show and they pulled away 52-12.

Jackson Reilly kicks a penalty for Doylestown vs Xavier March 1, 2026.

Scrumhalf Jackson Reilly (above) scored two tries and added 17 points from the boot to tally 27 in the game. Liam Hoey scored two and Doylestown also got tries from Gavin Graham, Timmy Fuhrmeister, and Louie Cipollo.

It was a rough result for Xavier, but they have plenty of time to learn from that game. They also suited up against La Salle over the weekend, taking a win in that one.

For Doylestown, it remains pretty tough with games against Charlotte Cardinals and Charlotte Tigers on Saturday and Sunday next week.
