The UMass men's rugby team is a Division 1-AA program that competes nationally. They recently finished 4th in the nation at the National Collegiate Rugby Championship (7s) and have been a top program in the Liberty Rugby Conference, winning the conference's 7s title three consecutive years (2023, 2024, 2025).

AIC Downs Mass to go 6-0
American International College moved to 6-0 in the ECRC Thursday with an impressive 45-15 defeat of UMass.
The Minutemen went into this game 2-1 and playing some solid rugby, but an athletic and nicely-clicking Yellowjacket squad hit them for two tries in the opening 16 minutes and cruised from there.
ECRC Latest - Khabir Paces AIC, NEC, UMass Win
AIC flyhalf Jihad Khabir scored four tries as the Yellowjackets defeated Fairfield 52-13 in ECRC action Saturday.

AAs Not a Tall Order for Ruther
The Men’s Collegiate All Americans are almost set to fly out to Australia for a three-game tour, and there is at least one player still shaking his head at the excitement of it all.
“I really didn’t think it would happen,” said UMass lock Mike Ruther. “It wasn’t on my mind, and the invitation really came out of the blue. But it’s an awesome opportunity.”
UMass Impresses in Bowl Win
The University of Massachusetts pulled off more than an upset, but a drastic upset as the #47 Minutemen defeated the ACRL runner-up, #33 North Carolina State, 41-10 Friday evening at the ACRC Bowl Series in Charlotte, NC.
