Rosters for US HS Teams at NY 7s
What elite-level HS Boys 7s teams are playing in the New York 7s this weekend?
Here's a look at three of the top US-based teams, Eagle Impact Rugby Academy NY, Play Rugby Academy CODP, Northeast Academy - Boston, and Rugby Pa.
Eagle Impact Rugby Academy NY
Tom Treussard Xavier HS, NY
Mike Jennings Staples HS, Conn.
Luke Salls Simsbury HS, Conn.
Sam Louman Pelham HS, NY
Luke Persanis Pelham HS, NY
Liam Anderson Morris RFC, NJ
Filipe Brill Pelham HS, NY
Rafael Quezada NYRC, NY
Chris Newby So. Pines, NC
Sy Custodio Fairfield Prep, Conn.
Paul Devlin Rye HS, NY
Cody Ryan Amoskeag, NH
Tressard, Jennings, Persanis, and Louman were all part of an EIRA NY team that played the Play Rugby Academy squad at the Bowl Series. EIRA NY were outmatched in the first game and then did well to control much of the second. Of note is Southern Pines (North Carolina) standout Chris Newby, who has come north to join the squad.
RugbyPa
Mike Weir Doylestown RFC
Jonathan Ahern Downingtown RFC
Kyle Hegarty Malvern Preparatory School
Chris Bortuzzo Doylestown RFC
Dan Brown West Chester RFC
John Dorman West Chester RFC
Mike Salloum West Chester RFC
Brian Stella Doylestown RFC
Max Brown Downingtown RFC
Ronan Carter Conestoga High School
Jack McCausland Downingtown RFC
Francisco Javier Sitges West Shore United RFC
This is a completely new group of players for the Rugby Pennsylvania 7s team. Well, not completely, completely ... Mike Weir, a junior standout from Doylestown, is the one returning player. This is a very fast team, and has been working hard together under Coach Jack Foley and HP Director James English.
Play Rugby USA CODP
Nathan Salter Xavier HS, NY
Noah Geltman Play Rugby USA
Javonte Spence Play Rugby USA
Connor Buckley Xavier HS, NY
Damon Anderson Xavier HS, NY
Sean MacLaney Union, NJ
Sebastiano Villani, Greenwich, Conn.
Rory Kinsella, Xavier HS, NY
Eoin Sansevero Xavier HS, NY
Elijah Billips, Manhatten, NY
Patrick McTiernan, Greenwich, Conn.
John Michael Cepeda, Greenwich, Conn.
Some talent from the Greenwich program augments an athletic team. Salter is a smart playmaker, and Sansevero is a powerful runner and finisher.
Boys Club
In the Boys Club bracket, Greenwich has a very young team as some of their top fall rugby players are (as you see above) with the Play Rugby Community Olympic Development Program. With the Greenwich HS football team in the playoffs, the rugby 7s group is young.
The Northeast Academy Boston program is made up of private-school players from the Boston area, and they have solid unity and have been playing well together. They are part of the Northeast

Anthony McGrath Fordham Prep, NY
Stephen Hoey Xavier HS, NY
Brendan McCaffrey
Jon Rodriguez
Wilson Flex
Aidan Smith
Nuru Sherpa

(Traveling reserve: Damian Morley)
The kid to watch us Jon Rodriguez, who goes by the nickname "shifty" and it's an apt moniker. He is quick, scored tries, and while young is very tough to bring down.
