Paquette Takes on Gamecocks Coaching Job

Paquette said his MO as a coach is to center on mentoring. He expects to have all, or almost all, of the previous assistant coaches back with him. 

"This is a very influential time in the lives of these young men," Paquette continued. "All I can do is show them who I am and my vision for the program. Our goal is to continue developming great young men while raising the standard of the on-field product. We're playing in a division that has produced the last three NCR D1AA champioins, so the challenge is significant, and the opportunity is even greater."

With a strong recruiting class and a roster that tops 70 players, combined with a fall schedule for and A-side, B-side, and C-side, there's much to do and plenty that could be accomplished.

USC is in the upper tier of the slightly realigned SCRC, in which South Carolina, Alabama, Clemson, LSU, 2023 and 2024 NCR D1AA champs Kentucky, and 2025 champs Tennessee all play each other. There isn't really anywhere to hide.
