The Atlantis select-side program has named its Boys U19 squad for the Las Vegas Invitational Boys HS Elite 7s.

One player remains to be confirmed in the squad of 12, as Ryan Bradfield has been called up to the HS All American team. A player to replace him will be confirmed shortly.

The other 11, working under coach Jack Foley, who is Villanova’s Head Coach, are:

“This is a good team,” said Foley. “We have some good athletes and several guys who were with the team last year. We weren’t sure how we would compete last year, and we went 3-3. That was a pretty good showing. We’re trying to get some high-level rugby to guys who want to be seen, and I think we’re doing that.”

In 2014 Atlantis made the Plate Final. During the tournament they beat Ontario 2, Toronto, and Washington Loggers, and lost to Northern California and the two High School All American teams.

This year they will be a little more experienced, and could well pull off an upset.

It will be interesting to see how Jayden Demmy performs. The West Shore United player was a standout running back for the Cedar Cliff HS football team, rushing for 1,721 yards in 12 games and being named all-district. He is expected to play rugby at Penn State.
