Seattle Club Becomes Seattle Saracens
Seattle Old Puget Sound Beach Rugby, one of the most cumbersomely-named clubs in the USA and quite possibly the best club in the nation, has changed its name to Seattle Saracens, joining a global network of clubs with that name centered on the famed Saracens Club of North London. Seattle is the eighth club to join the Saracens Global Network.
Barbos Win in Massive Denver 7s
The Denver Barbarians won the Men's 7s Qualifier at the Denver 7s Saturday, crushing the Glendale Raptors 61-0 in the final.
The Kansas City Blues looked very strong in taking third over Aspen. Denver now leads the three-tournament West series with 6 points, but the decisiveness of the Barbarians' win over Glendale puts the rest of the region on notice.
7s Club Latest - South Qualifiers
This weekend in Atlanta the South held their first 7s club qualifying tournament for both men and women.
Atlanta Old White won the Men's Qualifier, beating Charlotte 7-5 in the final.
The Atlanta Harlequins won the Women's Qualifier, 27-12 over Orlando.
Magleby Talks CRC, Elite City 7sUSA National Development Director for 7s, Alex Magleby, has had some work to do scouting talent at both the CRC and then the Elite City 7s. And he might be a little discouraged given that there wasn’t a real standout at the CRC, and the winning teams in the Elite City 7s were those that had the most experience, and were already identified.
