LVI CRC Qualifier Day 1 Wrapup
Here are the scores and standings from the Men's CRC Qualifiers at the Las Vegas Invitational.
As expected, AIC dominated play in a relatively easy pool. Notre Dame College and Utah also cruised to 3-0 records.
But, there were a few shakeups and surprises.
1. There was never a 4th team in Pool E, so the other three teams there got 14-0 forfeits.
Toughness, Technique Put Life on Top
The Mid-South may be just three teams, but those teams are usually very close.
In 2014 (when Arkansas State was also part of the conference), for example, seven of the 12 games were decided by a try or less. Last year, in six games, five were decided by a try or less.
NECRC Names All-Conference Selections
The New England Collegiate Rugby Conference has announced its All-Conference Team for the fall 2015 season.
WSU Eyes Late Push to Playoffs
The playoffs beckon for Washington State University, but there’s still work to do to get there.
At 3-1-1 the Cougars sit third in the Northwest Collegiate Rugby Conference, where the top four go into the semifinals. But two games remain on the schedule - 3-2 Oregon this weekend, and 5-0 Washington two weeks later. The good news for WSU is that both games are at home.
CRC Qualifier Preview - AIC the Favorite
AIC looks to be the easy pick for the CRC Qualifier at the Las Vegas Invitational.
You wonder, really, if it will be all that close.
In truth, there are some other teams that could win their way to Philly. Air Force has shown to be handy at 7s, Notre Dame College has some exciting pace. But, aside from two other teams I’ll talk about in a minute, AIC is the favorite.
