GRR: St. Ignatius
The top seeds generally played like it at the Boys HS National Championships single-school bracket.
The only lower seed to win was St. Edward, and that was in the matchup of #4 and #5.
St. Ignatius met Xavier HS of New York Saturday on the campus of Penn State University for four games between their Varsity A, Varsity B, JV, and Freshmen teams.
Pendleton defeated St. Ignatius in the final of the Midwest Championships Sunday, taking the game 25-21 to cap off a 3-0 weekend.
While it is fair to say this was not a completely full-strength St. Ignatius team—no seniors due to prom weekend—this was still a very good showing from the Arabians of Indiana.
In a classic rivalry high school varsity rugby game, the Saint Ignatius High School Wildcats triumphed over the Saint Edward Eagles 24-0 Saturday night (April 20) at Brooklyn Memorial Stadium in the Cleveland area.
