USA Score 45 in NACRA 7s Opener
The USA Women are off to a good start in Cary, N.C., opening their NACRA 7s campaign with a 45-0 defeat of Jamaica. The Eagles built a 31-0 halftime lead before emptying their bench and giving everyone a run.
Next Generation of 7s Eagles?
To help the USA Women 7s team prepare for next weekend’s NACRA Olympic qualifier, 12 elite high school players have taken residence at the Olympic Training Center for the week. These young athletes could very well be the next generation of Eagle 7s players, so let’s take a closer at those all-stars in Chula Vista right now:
USA Lose 15-14 to England
That team photo behind the “qualified” banner will have to wait, as the USA lost 15-14 to England in the third-place match at the Amsterdam 7s.
One Match, One Olympic Berth
The Amsterdam 7s will end in thrilling fashion, but it won’t be the final to which everyone turns. Australia and Canada, having won their respective Cup semifinals against England and the USA, will compete for the trophy, but both teams have already secured their berths to the Olympics.
USA Advances to the Cup Semis
The USA Women controlled its Amsterdam 7s Cup quarterfinal, defeating Spain 38-5 for a semis berth against Canada, which defeated France 33-0 in its knockout this morning.
