Aztecs Take CSU 7sSan Diego State defeated Sacramento State 28-12 in the final of the California State University 7s this past weekend in Sacramento. Led by the strong play of Kalei Konrad and with Austin Switzer, and Trev Christiansen making key contributions, the Aztecs were the class of a competitive field, and Head Coach Alex Lichtig was gratified with the performance.

Serevi Rugby has signed on as a name sponsor for the Battle in the Bay collegiate 7s tournament.
USAR to Confirm College Champ Plans for 7s, FallUSA Rugby is expected to make some major announcements very soon regarding college championships. It appears that there will be a fall championship for DI and DII rugby, as-yet unnamed. But one source said that there will be a "fall pathway" to a championship, with ACRC and ACRA not being an impediment.
Battle in the Bay Boasts Impressive Lineup
The "Battle in the Bay" college 7s tournament will pitch-up for its second year October 25-26 at Treasure Island in San Francisco, and will do so with an impressive lineup of teams.
Arizona, Oregon, University of British Columbia, University of Utah, and University of Washington all show up this year and fill out the field to 16.
