WVU Changing Conferences

West Virginia University's men's rugby team is one tiny step away from joining the Rugby East Conference for the 2015-2016 college season.

The Rugby East voted earlier this week to accept WVU into the conference. Now what remains is for USA Rugby's DIA Commissioner, Kevin Battle, to OK the move. However it's unlikely Battle will see a major problem with the move.

WVU, Stony Brook Relish Bowl Chance

One of the intriguing things about the ACRC Bowl Series is that conference champions can be matched up to face each other.

Such is the case with Keystone winners West Virginia taking on Empire champions Stony Brook. Both teams have been impressive in winning their leagues. Both had one rival (St. Joseph’s for WVU, Kings Point for Stony Brook) who tested them.

WVU Likes Clarity of Win

Sometimes winning has a hint of regret in it, and for West Virginia University, winning the Keystone Conference last year carried with it a bit of the dark cloud in the silver lining.

WVU, St. Joseph’s, and Shippensburg ended the 2013 fall season tied at the top of the standings.

As Expected - St. Joes and WVU in Keystone

Games ran to form this week at the Keystone Conference playoffs as both Western Virginia (66-0) and St. Joseph’s (42-7) won big.

West Virginia got their say last week (see the article here), while the Hawks look ahead now to their rivals in yet another big game.
