Clever Hat-Trick Sees Eagles Past Canada
The USA defeated Canada 30-22 in the Americas Rugby Championship Saturday night just outside of Austin, Texas.
The Eagles put aside a series of set-piece errors and penal tie that saw them behind in the first half, and exploded for 20 points in the second half, including three tries from flanker and captain Todd Clever.
How Inexperienced are USA and Canada?
Both the USA and Canada will field markedly inexperienced national teams Saturday in Austin, although the USA team is slightly less experienced.
Changes for Eagles as they Face Canada
ROUND ROCK, Texas – Men's Eagles Head Coach John Mitchell has named Todd Clever captain of the team to take on Canada in the second Americas Rugby Championship match Saturday, Feb. 13, at Dell Diamond.
Three Players Added to USA Camp
The USA MNT has been waiting for Saracens to notify them if Titi Lamositele to be made available, but injuries in the front row at that pro club has meant that the USA prop will remain in the UK, for now.
Lamositele could conceivably be available to play for the USA against Chile, but it depends on injuries at Saracens.
Mitchell Assesses Game #1
The Eagles’ 35-35 tie with an Argentina XV in a non-cap game in the Americas Rugby Championship was a game full of qualifiers.
It was an imperfect performance, to be sure, but considering the team had only had a week together under a new coaching staff, it could have been much worse.
