Some Questions to Answer in USA v Canada

Just because the USA beat Canada in Canada on August 3 doesn’t mean it will happen in Canada on August 22, but there’s a good chance.

Book Review: R is For Rugby

Like many fathers, I’ve read my share of children’s books.

And I’ve read more than a few alphabet books based on a theme, so I’m pretty picky. Still I could be forgiven for being biased in favor of a children’s alphabet book about rugby. I tried very, very hard to be dispassionate, but I am not sure I can be.

Who Battles On?

The Eagles’ selections for Monday’s Pacific Nations Cup finale day will be a commentary on where Head Coach Mike Tolkin thinks his players stand.

With three more games left after Monday, Tolkin still has some opportunities to test players on the bubble - that will most likely happen against Harlequins in Chester, Pa. Monday is more about showing us who he thinks are his starters.

Thoughts and Questions on Eagle Lineup Changes

USA Men’s Head Coach Mike Tolkin surprised me a little with the number of changes he made for Wednesday’s game against Tonga, but the changes are necessary, as he has to see the players in action, and he has to rest some for the game after that.

USA v Japan Aftermath

Well it was fitting, in a way, that the USA v Japan game was played in the middle of the California State Fair, with the roller coaster screaming by Bonney Field every few minutes - it was a bit of a roller coaster of a game, after all; but the USA’s victory over Japan does a few things, not least of which is that it places the Eagles in with a chance to win the Pacific Nations Cup.
