BOULDER, Colo. – USA Men's National Team Coach Mike Tolkin has named the 29 players who will suit up for the USA Selects in a three-game tour this month.

The squad includes several veteran players along with players who are trying to break in to the USA World Cup squad. This team, which Tolkin said is "a level above" the Americas Rugby Championship squad, will face Uruguay A in a one-off and then play a two-game series with the Argentina Jaguars.

“There’ll be a couple of guys as part of this squad, still very young, who will be developing, but for the most part we’re trying to get harder games for our domestic guys,” Tolkin told USA Rugby. “We would expect Uruguay to have as strong a team as they can get out there.”

Ten of the squad were collegiate All Americans, with six – Colton Cariaga, John Cullen, Ben Landry, Angus MacLellan, Mike Shepherd, and Kyle Sumsion – on the 2013 All American team.

“This is a big opportunity to put a step forward for the World Cup squad,” Tolkin told USA Rugby, “so we want to get as much information on players as we can. I think, more than anything, that’s what we want to get out of this.”

The trip will be a challenging one. The team will assemble in Florida for five days before flying to Uruguay. After a tough game with the Uruguay A team, they then move to Salta, Argentina, a city more than 1,000 meters above sea level. Spending several days at altitude will be difficult for many players as they face the Jaguars  on April 28 and May 2.
