The Southern Conference held its second leg of its three part series at Wake Forest this past Saturday, with UNC Charlotte again walking away with the Cup.
Charlotte showed a dominant performance in the Cup Final, this time facing off against Furman. Forward Ryan Johns turned in a dominant performance and was hugely responsible for many of Charlotte’s scores. The final score was 24-10.
Appalachian State walked away with the Plate with a big win over Coastal Carolina, 27-5. Western Carolina won the Bowl with a win over Furman’s B side, 24-10. And Wingate beat UNCG 32-12 in the Shield Final.
After two series the Southern Conference standings are as follows; 1st place UNCC, tied for 2nd is The Citadel and Furman, 4th UNCW, 5th Coastal Carolina, 6th Appalachian State, 7th Wake Forest, and 8th East Carolina. The top 8 teams will advance to the conference final tournament April 22 at Furman. The final leg of the series will be played at Elon April 8.
