NEW YORK, NY and BOULDER, CO – USA Rugby and The Legacy Agency announced Wednesday a special Fourth of July Weekend promotion for all supporters of the Men’s Eagles. The USA’s Rugby National Team will play the Qantas Wallabies, Australia’s National Team, on September 5th, 2015 in Chicago and the match, presented by Astellas Pharma, will serve as both teams’ final warm-up for the Rugby World Cup.
“We thought a special promotion around July 4 serves as a great kickoff to what will be a very exciting summer for USA Rugby, and we are excited to offer up this special promotion for fans who will be coming from far and wide.” USA Rugby CEO Nigel Melville said. “History has shown us that Soldier Field brings out some of the most spirited crowds anywhere, and we are expecting more of the same Labor Day Weekend.”
Fans purchasing three tickets to this historic pre-World Cup match will be able to get a fourth ticket free by logging on to Ticketmaster and entering “July4RugbyFan” into the Offer Code box on the Ticketmaster purchasing screen. (Click here to get there)
The promotion will begin today, July 1, and will end at the close of the Independence Day weekend, (Sunday July 5th at 11:59pm CT). The promotion gives fans of all ages a chance to get an early jump on what will be an exciting weekend at the end of summer for America’s fastest growing team sport. Fans will see the free ticket as a 25% discount to all four tickets purchased; this promotion applies to all tickets prices, which range from $28 - $203.
Last year at Soldier Field in Chicago, 61,500 fans watched the historic match between the New Zealand All Blacks and USA Rugby Eagles. The attendance mark set a new record for the largest crowd to view a rugby match on US soil. This summer’s match against a premier national team in the world, will serve as a great showcase of the sport in front of the ever-growing American audience.
The Legacy Agency served as USA Rugby’s partner for last year’s match with the All Blacks, and is doing the same for the Wallabies match this year.
