Over 130 teams converse on Randall's Island this Saturday for the Annual NY 7s.
This is a massive tournament that covers elite teams down to "super social."
In the U18 brackets, there are 16 teams in the Premier levels for girls and for boys. There is also a HS Club bracket which was 16 boys and 15 girls teams in action.
Among those competing are:
Boys Premier: Tsunami Canada Misfits, which have won this tournament three times previously, are back and a favorite.
Next Phase Rugby, which is fielding a team for the second major tournament, following their 2nd-place finish at the NAI 7s. This lineup is very different from the previous lineup. Of interest, though, is that Next Phase picked up a player from their November 12 ID Camp to compete, bringing in Luke Zingaro based on what he showed at the ID camp.
Rugby PA has a very strong outfit and the Junior Jacks, sponsored by the New England Free Jacks, along with Canada's Upright Rugby, could be contenders.

Girls Premier: The Rugby Advantage won the. NAI 7s in 2023 and the NY 7s in 2022 and will field two sides in the Girls Premier. They will be chased by a solid Atlantis side and a USA West Rugby team that has expanded rapidly from youth and U14 up to these older levels.
Keep an eye on Upright and also the Elite Girls Rugby League select side.
