Rocky Mountain, Meridien Lead The Way In Idaho HS 7s
Rocky Mountain is won the West Ada School District Girls 7s Fall League regular season, with three-quarters of the team getting on the scoreboard as the team capped off an 11-1 record.
Rocky Mountain outscored teams by 300 points. Nyah Cordero led the team with 11 tries (Nesi Tuitama of Meridien led the league with 16). Makayla Debry led the league with 133 points. She made 75% of her conversions, and also added a drop goal in open play.
Meridian's Tuitama had a huge season. She's a newcomer to the game, and ran in about three tries for every two games played. Meridien was 9-2, with the only two losses being to Rocky Mountain. Both these teams will be heavy favorites to win the District Championship on October 19.
JV League
Meridian ran the table among the JV teams, going 12-0. Reagyn Mloyneux was unstoppable all year, scoring 26 tries in seven games played.
Rocky Mountain only lost three games, all to Meridian. Lauren Meredith and Annie Steenblik provided most of the offense for Rocky, with Annie on the outside using her speed and Lauren up the middle with her strength. The one-two combo was formidable throughout the season. Both of these girls have never played rugby before this season.
