HS Clubs looking to get themselves a more favorable ranking and seeding for the national championships have embraced a new challenge series.

Our collegiates at Rugby Riot have stepped into the event promotion arena, and are looking to run Club Showcase events in San Diego (March 20, 2027), and Charlotte (April 24).

The idea around this is not a tournament, but more around challenge matches.

The teams involved would be expected to play one game in a day, and the teams that have put their hands up are all (with one exception) teams that want to finish well at the Boys HS Ruby National Championships.

For those who rank high school teams, such as GRR, these games will also be hugely useful.

These are the clubs that Rugby Riot as saying will definitely participate:

Charlotte Cardinals (2026 HSNC Club Champions)
San Diego Mustangs (2026 HSNC Runners-up)
Cavemen (2026 HSNC 4th)
Thunder Rugby (2026 HSNC 7th)
Doylestown (2026 HSNC 3rd)
Okapi (2026 HSNC 8th)
San Francisco Golden Gate
Carmichael  (2026 HSNC Tier II Runners-up)
The Woodlands (2026 HSNC 5th)
SOC Raptors

All except SOC Raptors and SFGG have participated in the last national tournament. The Raptors have played there recently and won Tier II in 2025. SFGG haven't been there since 2021 (taking 3rd in Tier II), but have certainly been good enough to play there.

Will this have staying power? There's a good chance. If organizers and venues stay behind it, this event can expand. We might see it become a bit more regional over time, but it will also be an excellent chance for clubs that think they should get noticed to be noticed.
