Rugby East is a very tough conference and it seems like every week there's going to be a big game in that conference.

Probably the most interesting matchup this week is Kutztown at St. Bonaventure. While Kutztown has already played a game this season, Bonnies goes right into conference play with only an alumni scrimmage under its belt.

"We're coming in hot," said St. Bonaventure Head Coach Tui Osborne. "We know Kutztown is itching to get one on us and we're looking forward to the matchup. We have a series of really tough games but that's how we want it."

Having graduated some top-notch players (as in MLR #1 pick Rick Rose), SBU has some leadership to replace, but Osborne told GRR that they have a leadership group for every class, so those guys just step in. Flyhalf Greg Steffens and flanker Matthew Conroy lead Bonnies this year. Kutztown, meanwhile, has a solid team that took care of Adrian over the weekend.

Also of note this week, Indiana takes on Navy in a meeting of two conference winners from last fall (Big 10 vs Rugby East). BYU opens up the Rocky Mountain Conference season at Air Force, but it's worth taking a look at Colorado vs Colorado State. This is an excellent rivalry game and also a game that could decide the second-strongest in that conference.

Dartmouth hosts a wounded Northeastern while Fairfield keeps on rolling and will need to do Nazareth.

In DIAA, it's a new era in the Southern Conference with more DI teams, including NC State.

Tennessee at South Carolina could be an early SCRC decider. Meanwhile in the MAC an improving Cincinnati started the season with a solid win over Ohio led by five tries from No. 8 Merrick Greulich (three tries) and freshman Zac McDermott (two tries). Now they visit Louisville.

"I thought the guys played a really complete game," said Head Coach Kyle Roche. "Offensively we were maintaining possession and moving the ball well downfield. The forwards controlled set pieces all game and earned multiple scrum penalties. Defensively we were applying pressure and forcing mistakes."
