With some top-ranked teams playing so much this past weekend, we wanted to get these rankings out quickly.
With Saint Mary's the top four really is solidified. There will be a clash between Life, BYU, and Saint Mary's - at least two of those three will play each other, and likely we're see two games among those three, and those games will decide #1 for us. Since Central Washington lost to BYU, even a big CWU win over Cal would not push the Wildcats to #1.
Chico State makes a big debut after beating UC Davis. We'll see a rematch between those two soon.
Navy moves up despite a loss because they almost won. And we have some changes near #50. The biggest question was what to do about Santa Clara, which beat UCSB early in the season, but then lost to Cal Poly, who lost, later in the season, to UCSB. There's something to be said for a progression through the season. You could argue Santa Clara deserves to stay in the top 50. Right now they don't.
