Men D1AA Spring 2025 Rankings Week 8
Spoiler alert - not much changes here.
Let's talk playoffs. The rankings aren't related to playoffs ... the seedings in D1AA aren't influenced by GRR's rankings, while D1A is, slightly.
But we get to use the rankings to look at the playoffs.
Here's what's going to happen:
Four teams will converge on Indianapolis with the semis on May 2 and the final on May 4. That weekend will also host a women's collegiate 7s championship, and the D1A final.
We already know that Iowa State and Sam Houston State will be there as D1AA semifinalists. The Florida D1AA Conference will decide one of the other spots and clearly right now St. Thomas and Florida State are the front-runners. Those two teams played in the opening weekend, with St. Thomas beating Florida State 31-12. The chances are that those two will face off in the conference final on April 12.
The final spot is a bit more complicated. Western Washington has clinched 1st in the NCRC. Now they way to play the winner of the California South (San Diego) and California North. The California North will be decided with a playoff and it will be either American River or San Jose State. So we've got that to figure out.
Oregon State beat D1A team Utah State. It was a good result outside of OSU's regular conference, and we figure that deserves something.
