If you're not playing (and we don't have a solid idea that you're very strong), then you're going to move down in this ranking.
At the same time, we also had some serious questions regarding a few teams in D1AA, notably South Carolina, Principia, Sam Houston State, and Loyola of New Orleans.
Those questions were at least partially answered this past week. USC won a nicely-taken, but close, game over UNC-Charlotte. Principia lost, but competitively, and that solidified their place in our Top 35. SHSU hit Baylor hard and announced that they're not going anywhere (except up in our rankings).
And Loyola was excellent in a win over LSU. They shoot into and up into the rankings, but we have a close eye on them as it's just the one result. Still, Loyola, which is playing an independent CRAA D1AA schedule, should be a program to be reckoned with.
Other results that made an impact: Western Michigan tying Purdue. Clemson being powerful over Alabama. Iowa over Wisconsin. Virginia Tech struggling against Tennessee. We think the Hokies (some of whom we ran into in Baltimore after the New Zealand-vs-South Africa test match) will get there, so we'll take that result with a bit of salt.
West Chester moves up to #11 but that's kind of a rising tide raising lots of boats. It's a weird ranking for them, we think, but we'll keep it, for now.
What's next? Bowling Green at Michigan. We are curious as to how that will shake out. Iona at Babson. Loyola at Texas A&M (!). Will Louisville replicate Iowa's win vs Wisconsin?
