marist action 2019

The US Merchant Marine Academy is now clear atop the Tri-State Conference after beating William Paterson 50-5 Saturday.

The result was an impressive one as WPU is certainly one of the major competitors in the Tri-State Men's DII conference, and to have Kings Point beat them by 45 points is a bit of a head-turner.

Now 2nd in the Tri-State North is Marist, which beat RPI in a battle of contenders. Marist got two tries each from Thomas Jones and John Schneider, while Dave Slade and Shane Phillip added one each.

Schneider, the Marist loosehead prop, had a massive game not only in scoring but in making gains as a ballcarrier, and in dominating the scrum.

In the Tri-State Central, which is an NSCRO division, Vassar is undefeated it 3-0, but there are two more teams, Drew and SUNY-Maritime, at 2-0.

Drew and Maritime play each other next week; Vassar plays Maritime a week later, and then Drew and Vassar face off in November.
