Keystone 7s This Weekend
Keystone 7s This Weekend
The Keystone 7s Series kicks off this weekend with eight teams in attendance at James Madison University.
JMU is one of the favored teams, but this is not going to be a cake walk. Despite a solid showing at recent tournaments, James Madison will have to contend with St. Joseph’s in their pool, along with Millersville and Villanova. Both have plenty of experience in 7s and won’t just try to play a blind, contact-heavy game. They shouldn’t, anyway. Teamwork and ball movement will be their friends.
In Pool B, Big XII winners West Virginia showed off some impressive fitness in outlasting Oklahoma in that tournament. Last week at Notre Dame College the Mountaineers beat Cincinnati, Miami, and Dayton, but lost to St. Bonaventure in the semis.
Shippensburg might struggle in this pool, especially with Pitt and Temple lurking.
