We get a chance now as January is gone and February is here to look at some of the standout performances in high school rugby around the USA.

Trace Snellman, The Woodlands
Four tries in two games for the Wolfpack back and USA U18 player has The Woodlands starting strong.

Seti Perona, Rio Americano
Rio Americano beat Jesuit Sacramento 21-15 February 7, and the fullback scored a try and slotted all three conversions, which was essentially why Rio won the game.

Martin Sarkees, Greer 76ers
The 76ers scrumhalf ran the tempo and attack as Greer overhauled Wando.

Luke Ballinger, Boca Juniors
The Boca fullback has been dynamic, dangerous in various places over the field, and a leader as Boca has won two very tight games over Key Biscayne.

Jacob Davidson, Brother Martin
With wins over New Orleans Jesuit, Hammond, and St. Paul, Brother Martin continues to get scoreboard support from Davidson on the wing, whether he is kicking goals, speeding over for a try, or setting teammates up.

Paki Latu, Serra HS
Latu scored four tries in Serra’s win over St. Francis January 24.

Luke Lupinski, Charlotte Catholic
The Charlotte Catholic lock is unassuming and just gets down to work. His defense, set piece work, and power in breakdowns were all exceptional.

Kingston Hawkins, Cathedral Catholic
Hawkins is an imposing athlete at center for the Dons and combines skills, distribution ability, and athleticism brilliantly.

Nicholas Nedwed, Strake Jesuit
The Strake second row stole six lineouts in his team’s win over HCYA.

Kai Campbell, Huskies
The Huskies No. 8 was consistently among the best players on his team through their run to the North Carolina final. His hard running, defense, and leadership was massive for the team from Hough.

Jude Crum, Bishop O’Dowd
Playing center for the Dragons, Crum has been hugely effective on both offense and defense and was co-Player of the Game last week.

Auma Jennings and Marcus Fakatou, Orange Lutheran
These two have been outstanding as attacking threats in the OL midfield, breaking tackles and setting up tries.

Parker Van Doren, Serra HS
The Serra flanker has sparked his team with a massive work rate and defensive play.

Luke Zehmke, Charlotte Catholic
Pulling the strings and also serving as an imposing runner and excellent goalkicker. His accuracy in all aspects of play helped lead Charlotte Catholic to the North Carolina title.

Elijah Capiro, The Woodlands
Another USA U18 candidate, Capiro is a points machine and scored 21 against Rock Rugby, earning him player of the game honors, five against the Barbarians (in a game The Woodlands won 10-0), and 14 vs Boks.

Theo Mackaman, Mira Costa
Against St. John Bosco, Mackaman scored 23 points.

Shay Farkash, Torrey Pines
A powerful No. 8 for the Falcons, Farkash was a superstar in a win over Cathedral Catholic and is a cinderblock in contact (that’s a compliment).

Josiyah Horton, SacAir
The SacAir center was a devastating attacker in a preseason game with Danville. His pace and opportunism helped spark SacAir to an impressive showing.
