Friends Rally to Support Teammate with Cancer
The Atlantis rugby program is rallying around one of their own, as player Ariel Johnson has been diagnosed with B-Cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
A hard-hitting, aggressive halfback, Johnson is Atlantis player #941, and was part of the NOVA club that qualified for the club 7s national championships this year. But she couldn’t go to Des Moines because of her illness. In fact she had to leave the Mid-Atlantic qualifiers to go to the hospital, which is where she was diagnosed.
She is now being treated for her cancer, and even with health insurance her bills are piling up, and it’s worth remembering that health insurance deductibles reset to zero at the beginning of the year. So she will have more expenses. Atlantis is raising money to help support her in her right, and in addition they are selling T-shirts in support of Johnson - all proceeds from the sales of these shirts will go support her fight against cancer.
