Fall Men DI College Rankings Week 7

We have a new #1 for the second week in a row in the Goff Rugby Report Men's DI College Fall Rankings.

We've got some other changes - Bowling Green drops down because of their loss to Cincinnati, and Western Michigan drops down too as we're thinking that the MAC teams might all need to drop down a bit. Miami drops out after winning, but only 12-7 over Louisville. Ohio beats Dayton and moves in. Oddly, Ohio did tie Louisville earlier in the season, but we've got to give credit for improvement, something Ohio and Cincinnati have both shown.

OK, now to #1. By coincidence, Goff Rugby Report was able to see AIC and Kutztown in person this past weekend. Both are very strong, but Kutztown was just a little bit more polished and more precise in a game against tougher opposition. AIC blew out UConn, but by their own admission, could have played better. Kutztown defeated Army, and Army was #1 earlier this season. It's a tough call, and perhaps just as tough a call to drop Indiana down from #2 to #3 even though IU won big, but that's how it is.

For the moment, it seems that Kutztown is the #1 team in the country this fall. However, Penn State could knock them off, and Indiana and AIC aren't done making their point. AIC will play Clemson in the ACRC Bowl Series. That's a game that could well crown the #1 team. Several other teams have a really good shot at getting there, too, even #13 South Carolina (if they beat Tennessee convincingly that will move the Gamecocks up a few spots).
